Davide Coltro presents 'Systems' November 30, 2006

Join us at the Istituto Italian di Cultura for a preview and presentation by artist Davide Coltro on his artwork entitled Systems, which will be on exhibit at the Mark Wolfe Contemporary Art gallery starting December 7.

Davide Coltro aims to redefine the terms of artistic creativity by preparing a revolutionary aesthetic experience through an intelligent use of technology. His electronic canvases are not just plasma screens but actual image-transmitting systems that wirelessly project his original photographs from his digital studio in Milan and reconstruct them by means of varied rhythms and modalities. Coltro uses a mathematical calculation to reprocess the chromatic information of each image and in so doing obtains a completely new color that did not exist in the original image. As a result, his landscapes have an unusual and striking monochromatic effect.
