It is one of the ironies of rock music that few groups, such as The Velvet Underground or The Doors, only gain their influential reputation with hindsight, long after they have disbanded. With their humor, experimentation and uniqueness, there was far more to Bauhaus than the 'goth' image that their dark and brooding style suggested. Now, twenty two years after their breakup, their back catalogue sells better than ever, their style is still contemporary, and their live shows are now stuff of legend.

Since Bauhaus' breakup in 1983, David J Haskins (arguably the most recognizable member of the band) went on to enjoy success as a member of both Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets.
