David Freiberg and Friends: 3rd Annual Bread and Roses May around the Bay Benefit May 2, 2009

This evening features David Freiberg, a legendary “Summer of Love” rock performer, who began as a folk singer before founding Quicksilver Messenger Service, then later joining Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, with whom he still tours. This show is part of Bread & Roses’ May Around the Bay outreach program, supporting the work of volunteer performers like Freiberg and his friends, who generously donate their time to bring uplifting musical performances to isolated audiences in institutions around the Bay Area, including the Senior Lunch Program at the Dance Palace.
