Dave Brubeck Quartet & Big Band April 15, 2007

In the ’50s, the Dave Brubeck Quartet redefined jazz, making odd time signatures swing, and putting jazz atop the pop charts with the single “Take Five.” This performance by the NEA Jazz Master features a quartet set followed by a big band performance of Brubeck’s 1956 suite, “Elementals.”
