Dave Anderson's Trio Real - CD RELEASE EVENT June 11, 2011

Dave Anderson’s Trio Real, a sax/bass/drums jazz trio with strong funk/pop influences, will celebrate the CD and digital release in concert at Egan’s Ballard Jamhouse, June 11th at 7:00 pm. The trio played its first gig at Egan’s in June 2008, and returns there for release of its first recording. The June 11th performance will feature multi-saxophonist Dave Anderson, bassist Devin Lowe, and drummer Brad Boal. (The recording includes a guest appearance by guitarist Chris Spencer on one track; Anderson plays keyboard on another.) The group endeavors to have all of the improvisational freedom of a jazz group, without the harmonic restrictions of a regular chordal instrument like the piano, while expressing funk/pop influences like James Brown, John Scofield, Coldplay, etc. Shortly after this performance, Lowe will move to Texas for musical studies at the notable University of North Texas, where Boal also studied.
