Thirteen Dartmouth College students will stop at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort on Saturday, July 14 for an important mission: To bring enthusiasm for community involvement through environmental action and to show off their alternative-fuel powered Big Green Bus. Maricopa is the 16th stop on their 85–day, nationwide campaign.
The student-run Big Green Bus will cover 12,000 miles across 30 states, spending the summer engaging in dialogue, spreading innovation and inspiring community action - all on a waste vegetable oil (WVO)-powered coach bus.
Members of the Dartmouth team will be available from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. to give tours of the bus and talk about the importance of sustainability and environmental awareness. The Clean City Coalition will also be there to support efforts to reduce the country’s oil dependency.
