Dark Side of the Cop September 30, 2006

Dark Side of the Cop (self-titled), released this summer on artist-run Auger Down Records, broke CMJ’s Top 100 and recently hit the top 3 on the weekly self-released record charts. XLR8R called it “brilliant”, the SF Weekly dubbed it “quietly addictive”, and The Miami New Times cheered, “charming… lively and earnest”. Originally conceived as an alternate soundtrack to the 80’s Eddie Murphy classic Beverly Hills Cop, Dark Side of the Cop evolved out of what Pitchfork Media described as “one of the greatest origin-gimmicks ever” into a touring electronic act that has impressed crowds at festivals and clubs all over the west coast.
