Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar A. Poe used their writing to share commons ideas of the true nature of man: evil. This talk by independent scholar Rob Velella shows the negative side of the Romantic Movement and how Hawthorne and Poe interacted and, ultimately, influenced each other. The event celebrates the birthday of Nathaniel Hawthorne (July 4) and the bicentennial of Poe. Admission is free.
