Darin Bennett and the Requiem + Jonny Two Bags (Social Distortion) will co-headline a first ever, month long residency every Monday in July, downstairs at Los Globos in Silverlake, CA. – Free Admission. 8pm Doors.

Darin Bennett and the Requiem + Jonny Two Bags will co-headline a residency every Monday in June at Los Globos in Silverlake, CA. All of the shows will feature some of L.A.’s best bands in the supporting slots. Scattered throughout the month will be locals Ben Reddell Band, Gypsy River Haunts, Murietta, and others.

Along with co-headliner Jonneine Zapata during their June 2012 residency, Darin Bennett and the Requiem were a LA WEEKLY PICK OF THE NIGHT.

All of the shows will have free admission for ages 21+ and will start at 8:00pm downstairs at Los Globos.

Darin Bennett's dark, bluesy, soul searching rock is bound to appeal to roots music purists as well as indie music fans starved for something a little more visceral. Darin plays a combination of electric and slide guitar driven, gritty delta blues, with elements of both modern and classic rock and soul. He tops it off with a powerful voice that ranges from a subtle whisper to a raging growl. His influences range from Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton to pioneers such as Son House, Robert Johnson, Johnny Cash and Otis Redding.

Since his debut album as a solo artist, 20 Scarlet Monkeys (2006), he has been at work with his band, Darin Bennett and the Requiem, who just released the EP Midnight Storybook (2012 Mumbella Records). The first single off of the album is “Holdin’ Me” which features a stunning new video directed by VFX wizard Andrew Cochrane.

Jonny Two Bags is a singer-songwriter who has made a name for himself as the lead guitarist in Social Distortion and, previously, for the bands U.S. Bombs, The Cadillac Tramps, and Youth Brigade. He is currently at work in the studio completing his first solo album of original material, as well as continuing as a member of Social Distortion.
