Mythical images of the deep southern bayou are juxtaposed with social realism in David Rousseve/REALITY's 'Saudade.' Rousseve constructs a new physical language with seven performers combining postmodern movement and traditional world dances. The sound score for Saudade is traditional and contemporary recordings of fado music, also known as 'Portuguese Blues,' interspersed with spoken narratives and character monologues.
