With a powerful cast of international artists from Osaka (Japan), Turku (Finland), and New York City, Alan Danielson's new evening-length work explores the physical and metaphoric aspects of distance and space. Created over three different continents, in compact venues and at great distances, the dances are shaped by the physical laws of bodies in space and the complex logistics of a long-distance creative process. Time and language barriers, varying perspectives, and cultural (dis)connections yield a dynamic and intriguing exchange in a work that bares the emotional weight of distance in relationships: communication, isolation, interdependence, memory, and trust.
