The Lakewood Cultural Center presents Danish vocal pop a cappella sensation Basix in a special holiday program at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 in the intimate 316-seat theater at 470 S. Allison Parkway at Wadsworth Boulevard and West Alameda Avenue. Tickets are $26 and are already selling fast. Basix released its debut album “The Grass” in September 2001, and it immediately broke into the Danish charts. "The Grass" was nominated for a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA) and earned the group a platinum album. Since then, the group has released five albums: “Embodiment” (2003), “Christmastime” (2005), “Star People” (2007), “Diversity” (2009) and “Hjemmebane” (2011), all of which have won the prestigious CARA award for recorded a cappella. With a grand total of five international CARA awards, including “Best European Album” and “Best Holiday Album,” Basix has proven to be among a top a cappella group worldwide.
