Caldwell invites you to come and explore the deliciously decadent underworld of 1930’s Weimar Germany in the World Premiere of Michael McKeever’s Dangerous. First read at Caldwell’s innovative and popular 2008 Play Reading Series where it received audience rave reviews, Dangerous is “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” deconstructed. McKeever has taken the classic tale of lust and betrayal and recreated it in Germany just as the Nazis begin the their tragic rise to power. With intelligence, humor and more than a hint of sexuality, he has created a play that explores the human heart, against a backdrop of political and social upheaval. McKeever’s farce, Suite Surrender, World Premiered at Caldwell last season to rhapsodic reviews and continues to play around the country. The South Florida based playwright has written close to twenty plays, many of which continue to be produced around the world, all of which have received South Florida productions. He takes great pride in Dangerous, calling it “his sexiest play to date.” Caldwell welcomes you to be among the first to see this fascinating work by one of South Florida’s premier playwrights. PLAYWRIGHT BIO

Michael McKeever ’s plays have been produced off-broadway, as well as throughout America and Europe. His plays include Suite Surrender, The Impressionists, Melt, Charlie Cox Runs with Scissors, The Garden of Hannah List and 37 Postcards. Citations and awards include:
NEA Residency Grant (New Theatre, Miami); 2 Time Finalist - Heideman Award, National Ten-Minute Play Contest; 3 Carbonell Awards (Best New Work); 3 Curtain Up Awards (Best New Work); and 2 Florida Individual Artist Fellowships. Three of his plays have been pro- duced at City Theatre’s nationally renowned Summer Shorts Festival in Miami. He has been a
finalist several times at both the Key West Theatre Festival and the Sarasota Festival of New Plays. He resides in South Florida and is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Actors’ Equity.
