This year’s 5th annual Dancing in the Street features the Kansas City dance troupe Quixotic Fusion. Their two performances at 3 and 7:30 involved site-specific dance, aerial work and innovative music. The 7:30 performance includes special 3-d projections for a unique and spectacular effect. With an ensemble of multi-media designers including musicians, dancers, aerialists, composers, choreographers and visual designers, Quixotic offers a performance that goes beyond of any specific art form and instead creates a total sensory piece.
More than 75 performances and 700 dancers from regional troupes will be joining Quixotic Fusion. On four different stages, these non-stop performances range from classical tap, ballet, and folk dancing to contemporary belly, salsa, and hip hop dancing.

As always, the public is encourage to participate in choreographed group street dance or instructional dance throughout the afternoon. Dancing to live music lasts until 9 p.m.
