DanceWorks is pleased to present the Toronto debut of The Vision Impure, an evening of solos performed by internationally-renowned dance powerhouse Noam Gagnon, co-founder/co-artistic director of Vancouver’s multi-media dance company, The Holy Body Tattoo.
In a world obsessed with surface, The Vision Impure, with tender ferocity, is a solitary attempt to expose and reveal the little-seen beauty in complexity and complication and the effort required to surmount the constant push and pull of life.
Featuring choreography by Gagnon, UK dance maverick Nigel Charnock and a commission for Gagnon from Montreal’s boundary-pushing Daniel Léveillé, The Vision Impure draws upon Gagnon’s raw physicality as it delves into themes of vision and perception.
