During one magical night, six of Chicago’s top dance companies will unite as part of this year’s Dance for Life, the largest performance-based AIDS fundraising event in the Midwest. This highly anticipated event, currently in its 16th year, has raised nearly $3 million since 1992 and is held annually to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago, Centro San Bonifacio, Pediatric AIDS Chicago and the Dance for Life Fund.

Dance companies include: Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, River North Chicago Dance Company, BAM! and Luna Negra Dance Company

The Raffle Presentation, a fun and upbeat performance in which dancers creatively select names for the raffle, will be choreographed by award-winning dance icon Harrison McEldowney. Randy Duncan, the three-time recipient of Chicago’s prestigious Ruth Page Award, will choreograph the world premiere finale.

Dean Richards, Entertainment Critic and Reporter at WGN-TV and WGN Radio 720AM, will host the event.

The reception begins at 5 p.m., and the performance commences at 7:30 p.m.
