DAMO SUZUKI
The legendary former Can frontman needs no introduction. He sang on their classic albums ‘Tago Mago’, ‘Future Days’ and ‘Ege Bamyasi’, was honoured in song by The Fall, and has performed thousands of improvised shows around the world since 1983 backed by numerous musicians, or ‘soundcarriers’. Tonight’s he will be backed by Paris-based psych-pop duo Yeti Lane. http://www.damosuzuki.com/
YETI LANE
As well as playing with Damo, Yeti Lane will also be performing a full set of their own. Formed by Ben Pleng and Charlie B, both former members of M83’s space-rocking labelmates Cyann & Ben, they released their second album ‘The Echo Show’ earlier this year and popular consensus is that it’s something of a classic. NME said it was “like Grandaddy’s ‘The Sophtware Slump’ reimagined by Kraftwerk and Kevin Shields”, while BBC Music described it as “Krautrock refracted through the hall of mirrors in the Palace of Versailles”. Live, the two-piece make a noise worthy of four, and follow up their support tour with Diagrams earlier this year with their own shows.
