Damo Suzuki, previous lead singer for “Kraut rock” powerhouse CAN, will be leading a series of three concerts at Kilburn’s Luminaire on 2, 3, and 4 May 2010, featuring six unique, experimental groups as his backing bands. Suzuki is known for his rock vocals, spoken word, and instantly composed melodic and harmonic material. He is currently undertaking a collaboration project with numerous music projects from around the world, presenting live concerts and producing recordings. This concert series is part of that project. http://www.damosuzuki.de
The second night of three featuring Damo Suzuki, set one will feature soundscape artists Vultures. Influenced by Dadaist and Italian Futurist movements, they use found objects, household items, electronics, and extended techniques to perform ambient, noisy, dark, and playful pieces. http://www.myspace.com/justvultures
Headlining day two will be the Dominic Lash Quartet, formed of Ricardo Tejero (sax), Javier Carmona (drums), Dominic Lash (bass), and Rodrigo Montoya (Japanese shamisen). The quartet uses primarily extended techniques and comes from a jazz performance background. http://www.dominiclash.co.uk
Opening and intermission music each night will be provided by Kojak, mixing an unusual collection of records and samples exhibiting incredible creative energy. http://soundcloud.com/kojak-1
