Hip hop meets jazz, world music and funk in the 50-piece daKAH hip-hop orchestra, an ensemble of rappers, musicians, turntablists and dancers.
daKAH is an ensemble of string, woodwind and brass sections blended with a hip-hop assortment of percussionists representing a new musical movement in Los Angeles.
Led by Geoff "Double G" Gallegos, daKAH places great importance on musicality (citing such influences as Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus), combining various forms of traditional instrumentation with dance rhythms and hip-hop beats.

Dakah is well-worth checking out. Once you get over the novelty of violinists fully rocking out, you can appreciate the mastery of this music. Really a treat. Well worth checking out.
