Daily Demonstrations October 23, 2010

Demonstrations are part of what makes our museum unique. On Monday through Saturday, see a cow being milked and learn about the importance of dairy products to New Mexico's economy and the health of her citizens. Times: 11 am and 3 pm, Sundays at 3pm. The production of fabrics and clothing from raw materials has always required skill and patience. Sewing, spinning, weaving and embroidery are among the traditional handcrafts you will see produced at the museum. Quilting: Thursday and Fridays, 9 am to noon; Sewing: Wednesdays, 9 am to 1 pm; and Spinning and Weaving: Wednesdays, 9 am to 1pm. Blacksmithing: Here you can watch metal being formed into useful objects--right before your eyes. Friday and Saturday, 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm. Sunday, noon to 4 pm. The Dona Ana Woodcarvers are here demonstrating woodworking and leatherworking on the first Saturday of each month from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
