Cypress String Quartet in Neighborhood Classics concert to benefit PS 142 on Lower East Side April 26, 2012

Join the Cypress String Quartet (Cecily Ward, violin; Tom Stone, violin; Ethan Filner, viola; and Jennifer Kloetzel, cello), described by Time Out New York as the “lauded San Francisco foursome,” for an evening, hour-long, family-friendly concert featuring some of the quartet's favorite classical music.

All ticket sales will benefit PS 142. The concert is part of the Neighborhood Classics series at New York public schools, founded by Brooklyn-based classical pianist Simone Dinnerstein.

Neighborhood Classics has already raised enough funds to bring back the fourth grade band program at PS 142. At PS 321 in Brooklyn, proceeds benefit the school’s PTA, which helps to fund art, chess, band, and chorus programs.

The musicians performing as part of Neighborhood Classics donate their time and talent to the program.
