Frustrated by running through the maze of modern life looking for the cheese, Scott Stoll realized he only had one life and one chance, and he asked himself, "If I could do anything--anything at all--what would I do?" His "impossible" answer was to leave home, strip himself of everything he thought he was, and ride a bicycle around the world.
His quest took four years and covered 25,752 miles through six continents and 50 countries. He had many wonderful adventures as well as misadventures--being run over in Vietnam, held hostage in Egypt, imprisoned in Zimbabwe, and trampled by elephants in Nepal--and along the way discovered some of life's secrets and found his true self.
Join Bay Area members of Hostelling International for a special slide show and presentation where Scott will share tales of his fascinating adventures along with practical advice for anyone contemplating a long-distance trek.
Admission $5 (free for HI members). Please RSVP to (415) 575-1500 or ayh@NorCalHostels.org.

I wish he would make a website and put up his slides and comments so we can see it even if we couldn't attend this event.
