Curtis Tigard turns 100 in April, and the entire community is invited to celebrate on Saturday, April 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the Tigard Public Library. The Tigard Historical Association is planning a grand party with cake and big band music to commemorate Mr. Tigard’s centennial birthday.
In 1852, Curtis’ grandfather, Wilson Tigard, opened a general store in the little farming community that grew into the city of Tigard. Curtis enjoyed a long banking career, which began on Main Street in Tigard’s first bank. Curtis still lives and plays in Tigard.
The party will be held in the Community Room of the Library. For more information about this free program, call the Library at 503-684-6537 or connect to the Library web site at www.tigard-or.gov/library/default.asp
