Cultural Encounters in the Mediterranean: Pirates, Pizza & Painting March 10, 2006

Considering exchanges between Mediterranean cultures in the late Middle Ages and Renaissance, speakers will present new research in art history as well as in trade, gardening, food, and literature. Tensions and contacts will be examined whether concerned with pirates, pizza or painting.
