A short concert will feature a presentation of Native American ceremonial music and dance followed by choral selections from famous Western classical requiems. Featuring Select Choral Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Michael Larkin, and the Owltalker Trio. Concertgoers will then explore additional aspects of therapeutic arts through their choice of three workshops, including one on gong meditation with Eric Webb, one on the healing movement and music with Erin Bobo, and a Kirtan session with Yvette. Originating in India, the call and response chanting of Kirtan represents one of the world's oldest sacred music traditions. There will be a raffle drawing for a Native American flute and two free lessons, plus a DVD by the late Joseph Campbell, the world’s foremost authority on mythology and comparative religion. A visual art exhibit will showcase works by Betsy Molina Mortenson and Jennifer Davies-Reazor, with pieces from their show “Imagodae — Envisioning the Feminine Divine.”
