Cultural Crossroads #1: Brazil Meets India April 5, 2013

We're mixing it up! 2 cultures come together on 1 stage for a NEW series with an open dance floor. dance lessons, followed by 2 bands and a musical jam. Velly Bahia features Axe music from Bahia, linking Brazil's African roots with energetic drumming, dancing and homage to the deities - The Orishas. Veena player, Nivedita Shivraj, (former FCCA Composer-in-Residence; Winner Queens Battle of the Boroughs) performs music from India with lush melodies and a strong spiritual connection.

Conveniently located on Northern Boulevard in Downtown Flushing, a block and half east of Main Street, FTH is easily accessible by subway and bus; we offer free parking for our patrons.
