CT Flickr Meetup - Southford Falls February 21, 2009

Our next meetup is on Saturday, February 21st at Southford Falls State Park. Please be on time at 1:30pm! Before we start shooting, I will share a little information about maneuvering around the park when it's icy. For your safety, I would like everyone to hear this piece. I know the park well and can share a little about where the ice tends to form and which route to the covered bridge tends to be the safest.

We'll see how everyone feels after being outside in the cold. We may head out for hot chocolate and some conversation after the meetup.

Please bundle up and don't worry what you look like! (Does everyone have a pair of prd_id=845524442597886&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374302898854">these? If not, I strongly recommend them for outdoor Connecticut winter photography!)

You probably saw the previous discussions about the treacherous winter conditions at many of the Connecticut waterfalls. I believe Southford Falls is the safest option and would not schedule this meetup if I felt it was inherently unsafe. However, there's always a chance of injury. With the size of this group and the number of people who come out to our meetups, I have been wondering if I need to post a liability notice. I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I have added one to our group description. Here's a copy:
