Meet on Sunday, October 18 at 10am at the pond. When you drive into the cemetery, the pond will be on your left.

As most of you know, the CT Flickr Meetup group is working on a project to photograph Cedar Hill cemetery every season for a year. Interested photographers will be given the opportunity to participate in an exhibit or another event. The foundation will be planning their 2010 event schedule later this fall, and I will work with them to set up a photography event. If you have suggestions, please let me know and I will bring them forward.

For anyone new to the group, Cedar Hill is a historic 270 acre cemetery where many distinguished individuals are buried. It is a place to appreciate nature, art, and history. Our meetup will be held on a Sunday, so we will not interfere with any burials.

We have found it works best to meet by the pond (close to the entrance) initially. When we are ready to begin our photography, members can drive up into the cemetery, where you can park and cover a few sections at a time. The cemetery is quite large and this approach will allow you to cover the most ground.

Please take your time and finish at your own pace. Some members breeze through in an hour, while others prefer to spend several hours shooting and learning about the history as they go.

Initially, I was going to arrange a separate meetup in October as well. However, this is traditionally a month with lower attendance to to everyone's busy schedules and foliage shooting. So this will be our official meetup for the month.
