Terry Lukiwski is originally from Regina and started playing jazz at informal jam sessions there. He moved to Toronto in 1972 and since has played/worked/recorded with just about every jazz player of consequence here, among whom are Hagood Hardy, Peter Leitch, Phil Nimmons, Bernie Senensky, Barry Elmes, and many others. Terry has led his own groups of varying sizes over the years. Crusader Rabbit is his latest project, which focuses on the compositions of the five members of the Jazz Crusaders, one of the most under-appreciated bands of the early '60's. The personnel of Crusader Rabbit: Terry Lukiwski (trombone), Ryan Oliver (tenor saxophone), Gary Williamson (piano), Alex Coleman ( bass) and Joel Haynes (drums).
One of North America’s premier jazz festivals, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival attracts over 500,000 loyal patrons and features more than 350 performances with over 1,500 musicians performing at approximately 40 locations around Toronto.
