Two urban designers, Michael McCulloch, AIA, Carol Mayer-Reed, FASLA, and other members of the design collective PDXplore, will discuss the proposed Columbia River Crossing (CRC), a bridge and an urban infrastructure project of local and national relevance. Spanning the most significant river in the western United States and a gateway to two states of the Pacific Northwest, the CRC will impact our region for decades. Prior its approval, this project deserves further discussion and a clear vision of its far-reaching economic, transportation, land use, ecological, cultural and social significance. The forum will pose questions and alternatives while broadening a discussion intended for a wide-reaching audience within the Portland-Vancouver region.
