As part of the ArtsNotes Concert Series, Workhouse Arts Center presents a shared program with CrossCurrents Dance Company and the Army Band Downrange. CCDC, directed by Debra Kanter, performs "Unsung" by resident choreographer Tiffany Haughn. Inspired by letters and interviews of American soldiers who fought in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, this provocative and gripping piece portrays the story of war and its aftermath from the soldiers’ perspective. The work depicts the many different aspects of war from tragedy and loss to self sacrifice and the triumph of the human spirit. "Unsung" honors the commitment and sacrifice of soldiers while at the same time serving as a sermon on peace.
