Celebrate romance in style in this special pre-Valentines Day presentation!
A Salute to Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams and Dean Martin
Starring Mark W. Curran and the Tony Capko Jazz Ensemble
If you loved Mark W. Curran's recent Frank Sinatra show, you'll love this brand new presentation he's put together just for Valentines Day!
A jazzy swingin' musical journey through the Great American Songbook, highlighting the most celebrated singers of the century and the timeless 'standards' that made them great; from composers like Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rodgers and Hart, to the award-winning 'Tin Pan Alley' tunesmiths who paved the way from Broadway to Hollywood.
In addition to performing hit classics by Tony Bennett, Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra, entertainer Mark W. Curran and the Tony Capko Jazz Ensemble will salute the enduring legacy of such singers as Sammy Davis Jr, Andy Williams and Mel Torme - and the swinging cool jazz and swing arrangements that put them there.
Modern song stylists such as Rod Stewart, Micheal Buble and Harry Connick Jr. have enjoyed great success purveying the Great American Songbook, and today's performance will include selections and arrangements from their recent releases.
"Crooners" will take you back to the days when the Rat Pack ruled Vegas, entertainers wore tuxedoes, and when a song, (along with a martini and a cigarette) could take you to the top of the world.
Note: This is not an 'impersonator' or 'look-alike' show, but will be performed by Mark W. Curran in his own distinctive voice.
