The Creative Spaces Rural Places Studio Art Tour weekend will take place Sat. & Sun. April 14 & 15, 2012 throughout galleries, studios, and businesses in three southeast Indiana counties.
Nearly 50 artists are scheduled to appear in locations in Ohio, Switzerland, and Dearborn Counties. Sculpture, paint, glass, fiber, steel, jewelry, wood, and photography are a few of the mediums represented. Artists’ demonstrations will be going on throughout the tour.
“The collaboration of the counties during this event exposes the public to a wide array of artistic talent in the area,” said Kendal Miller, public relations spokesperson for the Creative Spaces Rural Places event.
Now in its fifth year, the event attracts attendees from the tri-state and beyond. This year’s venue has expanded, adding the talents of nearly 15 Dearborn County artists. Guests are invited to enter into artists’ studios, galleries, homes, and local businesses to view hundreds of pieces of fine arts and crafts and meet the artists who create them.
“This art tour is full of wonderful opportunities to not only familiarize locals and tourists with Ohio, Switzerland, and Dearborn Counties but to meet and converse with its artists in their personal and professional environments,” explained Miller.
The tour is from 10am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday and is free and open to the public. Participating artists will have artwork available for sale.
