Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site announces a chance to unleash your creative streak by participating in our Create Your Own Exhibit program, held January 17th, 2009 and January 31st, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. (These are separate events, not a two-part session.)

For those of you that enjoyed our “How to be a Curator” Tour, or simply like learning about museums and making art, this winter event will be an opportunity to both learn about exhibit making and brighten the walls of our Community Gallery. We’ll discuss the elements of exhibit design, then create our own work to hang in the gallery. Once we’ve displayed our work, we’ll create a title for the exhibit and write labels for our pieces.

This event is free with regular admission (Children under 12: FREE, Students/Seniors: $3, Adults $4). The work from each session will be hung in the gallery for two weeks, and open to the public for viewing. RSVP is not required, but if you would like to bring a larger group to the event, please call ahead so that we have enough supplies. To schedule this program for a school or group or to receive more information, please contact Programs Coordinator Brittany Wheeler at Brittany.Wheeler@oprhp.state.ny.us or (914) 965-4027 or visit our Events Blog: www.philipsemanorhall.blogspot.com.
