Every year, the Brookline Arts Center, a non-profit community art center, presents its Crafts Showcase, where it presents for sale handmade crafts from artisans across the country. Merchandise includes jewelry, glassware, ceramics, Christmas ornaments and Hanukkah items, kitchenware, clothing and many more gift items. The Arts Center transforms its vintage building, once a fire house in the 1800's, into an intimate boutique setting. Money raised by art sales will help to support art classes, scholarships and cultural events.
The Preview Reception--this year on November 29th, from 6-9 pm--is the public's first chance to see the work of 80-100 talented craftspeople. Meet some of the partcipating artists, enjoy food and drink from local businesses, listen to live music--this year provided by Michael Nix on the banjar--and do some holiday shopping.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased by calling the BAC at 617-566-5715.
The 32nd Annual CraftsShowcase runs at the BAC from Thursday, November 30, to Sunday, December 17. Regular hours are Thursdays- Sundays, from 12 noon to 8 pm on Thursdays, and 12 noon to 6 pm on Fridays - Sundays.
