Mrs. O’Leary’s cow is credited with starting a chain of events that ultimately killed 300 people, left 100,000 homeless, and destroyed $200 million worth of property. To commemorate the 140th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire, the Hinsdale History Museum and Roger & Ruth Anderson Architecture Center will present a lecture about this catastrophic event that forever altered Chicago’s built environment.
