A country music fest will be held on Sunday, July 20th at the gazebo in Falls Park at the corner of Pendleton Avenue and Water Street in Pendleton.
Former local resident, Kristi (Burns) Anderson, a 1992 PHHS graduate, and her band will provide an energizing family show for children and adults under the park’s shade trees.
Anderson performed in Indiana University’s Singing Hoosiers elite Varsity group of only 18 members as a freshman. During summer breaks from IU, Kristi performed at Cedar Point Amusement Park. Recently, she won the Colgate Country Showdown for Indianapolis Country Radio Station, WFMS, in both 2006 and 2007. Kristi joins the ranks of past Showdown contestants like artists: Brad Paisley, Martina McBride and Garth Brooks. She performed at the HH Gregg Country Music Expo in Indianapolis for approximately 8,000 country music fans in April 2007. She is an amazingly talented singer.
The concert is presented by the Pendleton Community Public Library and sponsored by the Pendleton Lions Club.
Pendleton’s Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority will be scooping up the strawberries and the Pendleton Lions Club will be selling hot dogs, chips and soft drinks for the “dinner special” price of $2.00.
Come on down to the park and enjoy an evening of country music. Kristi can’t wait to see old friends!
