Counting Crows originated in Berkeley, CA and gained popularity in 1994 following the release of its debut album 'August and Everything After,' which featured the hit single 'Mr. Jones.' Since then, the band, whose influences include Van Morrison, R.E.M., Nirvana and Bob Dylan and The Band, has sold over 20 million records, received an Oscar nomination for 'Accidentally in Love' (from 'Shrek 2'), and despite several member changes, continued to flourish. Fronted by founding member Adam Duritz, the group frequently improvises on stage, adding new twists to familiar songs, and is currently on the road with their Outlaw Roadshow tour.
