Counter Media Awards and Book Release June 30, 2012

Counter Media along with Abhinava Prakashana, Vaddarse Raghurama Shetty Pratishtana and Avadhi is organizing a series of events with eminent development journalist P Sainath on the occasion of the Kannada Journalism Day on July 1.

The event will be held at Gandhi Bhavan beside Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, from 10 am on-wards.

P Sainath will be with us on the occasion of the release of the Kannada translation of his book ‘Everybody Loves A Good Drought’-translated into Kannada by G N Mohan.

This will be followed by the Counter Media Awards ceremony, screening of a documentary on Sainath and a lecture by Sainath on media and developmental issues. There will be an interactive session with the eminent journalist.

Counter Media awards, instituted by Sainath, are given to two young journalists from Karnataka who have done outstanding work in the areas of rural and human development reporting.
