On August 2nd from 7 to 9 pm, Cork Market will host an exclusive pop-up dinner prepared by loved DC chef, Amy Brandwein, paired with an array of unique wines from Cork's award-winning cellar. Currently the only location Washingtonians can savor Chef Brandwein's creative, authentic Italian dishes, the pop-up dinner will be held in Cork Market's rustic upstairs dining space. Chef Brandwein will prepare a memorable five-course dinner showcasing a wide variety of savory summer heirloom tomatoes with each course being crafted around the distinctive tomato varietals. All dishes will be expertly paired with estate produced Italian wines by Cork owners Diane Gross & Khalid Pitts.
Recent recipient of a RAMMY Award for the Washington region's 2012 Wine Program of the Year, Cork's wine program is led by owners Diane Gross & Khalid Pitts and focuses on small, estate produced wines and hard to find, unique varietals. Specializing in pairing with the season, the dinner will feature exceptional Italian wines over the course of the dinner, including a delicious sparkler from Grotta del Sole, the a complex yet refreshing Cerasuolo from La Valentina in Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and the bright and earthy Montevertine Pian del Ciampolo.
