Copal is a melding of string fusion with hip hop and world beats. This Boston-based electronic ambient group combines traditional sounds stemming from Spanish gypsy, Eastern European, Nordic and Middle Eastern influences with electronic beats and soundscapes of the modern age. Instrumentation includes violin, cello, vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, doumbek, synthesizer and live electronic beats, as well as tribal-style belly dancing and black light theatrics.
