Dates: Monday–Friday, Dec. 27–31
No matter what the weather is in Houston, kids will be making their own snow crystals during the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center’s Winter Break Camp “Cool Critters.” Our camps are divided into half day classes (9 to noon) and full day classes (9 a.m. to 3).
Taught by Arboretum naturalists, the camp will focus on winter weather and how our regional animals and plants survive the cold season. Some of the camp activities will include examining the properties of snow and ice crystals, learning about hibernation, creating bird feeders, studying mammal fur and making a tree ID wand. Children are divided into 3 classes by age.
Members receive priority registration, so sign up fast! More info. on registration, cost of the camp and becoming a member of the Houston Arboretum at https://www.houstonarboretum.org/wintercamp.asp.
