Like the character Emily Gan in Emily of Emerald Hill, Dr Ong Jin Teong comes from a Peranakan heritage and is passionate about Peranakan food.

Join Dr Ong, author of Penang Heritage Food, in this cooking demonstration as he reveals traditional Penang nonya recipes and its strong influence on Peranakan culture. He will be preparing two local favourites; kueh pai ti, a crunchy shell filled with sliced vegetables, and pulot hitam, a dessert cooked with black glutinous rice and dried longan, served with freshly squeezed coconut milk.

Enjoy learning and tasting the culturally diverse Peranakan cuisine on 13 October, Saturday from 2pm - 4pm.

Held at the Peranakan Museum with a $25 participation fee.
