Converging Histories: Chicana/o & Filipina/o Labor, Community & Identity Formations April 2, 2011

In commemoration of Cesar Chavez Day & Contributions from both communities. Dr. Rudy Guevarra, Jr. is Assistant Professor in the Asian Pacific American Studies Program and Faculty Affiliate in the School of Transborder Studies at Arizona State University. He is co-editor and contributing author of "Crossing Lines: Race and Mixed Race Across the Geohistorical Divide" (Alta Mira Press 2005). Dr. Guevarra's forthcoming book "Becoming Mexipino: Multiethnic Identities and Communities in San Diego" (Rutgers University Press) examines Mexipino identity within the context of Mexican and Filipino interethnic relationships and shared community histories.
