Contra Dance in Davidson December 14, 2007

Contra Dance Carolina and Davidson Parks and Recreation bring high-energy contra dancing to the Lake Norman area with the driving rhythm and honey-sweet tunes of Hotflash with Diane Silver. Live music and dance instruction for an evening of contra dancing on a vintage suspended wood floor; seating available for non-dancers.

$7 adults, $5 students. Beginner's workshop at 7ish, dancing by 7:30.

A What? Contra Dance is a high energy, non-competitive, social dance form. Prepare to sweat. Each dance is taught briefly so no experience is needed. Patterns resemble a madcap square dance requiring thinking and fast reflexes so all venues are substance free. Newcomers welcome be they youths, seniors, or somewhere in between.
