Contra Dance - Charlotte Country Dancers October 22, 2007

Charlotte’s Monday night contra’s offer laid back , non-competitive dancing done to live music. Each dance taught briefly so no experience is needed. Patterns resemble a madcap square dance requiring thinking & fast reflexes so all venues are substance free.

No partner is needed as folks generally switch partners at the end of each dance.

An ability to laugh at oneself is useful as even the most tenured dances get going the wrong way now and then.

Never been to a contra dance? Come early, around 7:30 pm, there will be a brief lesson that will have newcomers ready to dance the rest of the night.
