contra dance -ccd August 13, 2007

Contra Dance is a welcoming, playful, social, non-competitive dance form done to live music. Each dance is taught briefly so no experience is needed. Patterns resemble a madcap square dance requiring thinking and fast reflexes so all venues are substance free.

Ability to laugh at oneself useful, not wearing perfume polite, wearing soft-soled non-marking soled shoes required.

Monday night contra dances now in Chantilly Neighborhood. Dance proceeded by a brief crash course for new dancers @ 7:30 that has them ready to dance the rest of the night. No partner or experience needed. Hall is a work in progress, wood floors on loan from Charleston Contra Dancers!
