Contra Dance Carolina - High Energy Contra Dance August 31, 2007

August 31st- Join Contra Dance Carolina, Davidson Park’s and Rec. and regional dancers in welcoming students back with a special night of contra dancing. This non-competitive, High Energy, social dance form requires no prior experience or partner. Contras resemble flirty madcap square dances requiring thinking, ability to laugh at oneself & fast reflexes so all venues are substance free.
Modest desert social on patio adjoining hall offers a chance to meet, greet and enjoy the music.
Dean Snipe’s will offer a crash course lesson around 7pm that will have folks ready to go when the dance starts at 7:30. “Get Reel” will provide tight Celtic flavored contra dance music.

Bring coffee mug (a special desert to share is nice but not required). Wear soft soled, non-marking soled shoes. Prepare to Sweat! Most folks bring a change of cloths, lightweight fabrics and skirts popular.

Kids? Back to school dances can be intense. Tonight Only we recommend just grown ups come lend a hand welcoming this evenings new dancers.
