CONTEXT, a Houston based chamber music ensemble, presents a concert of the music of Franz Schubert, who practically invented the idea of the song cycle: a series of songs presenting a narrative of connected poems.'Die schone Mullerin' (The Beautiful Maid of the Mill) is Schubert's most exuberant cycle, a set of twenty songs that portray the whole emotional range of a young man's first love. Also featured of the program, 'Two Musical Moments , for Piano', played on CONTEXT's 1825 Graf piano. Bass-baritone Timothy Jones and Pianist Brian Connelly perform.
