This installation inaugurates a new series, 'Contemporary Explorations,' which will feature rotating displays from the museum's permanent collections that investigate aspects of art from the 1950s to the present. This rotation presents the work of three figurative painters of the 1960s, William Bailey, Philip Pearlstein and Jack Beal, who explored the traditional theme of the nude and revived figurative representation in their work. This exhibit can be found in the Gallery of the Art of the Western World, Doris Kellett Steinmetz Gallery of Twentieth-Century Art, first floor.
